This light-hearted lunchtime television-based quiz show from Tyne Tees Television was initially hosted by funnyman Barry Cryer (assisted by the lovely Madeline Smith), with showbiz contestants putting their memories of the big moments and outstanding people of the last two decades of ITV’s history to the test.
On hand each week was a well-known TV critic (such as Philip Purser, Celia Brayfield and Alan Coren) who was only too willing to show the stars up. No one really cared who won, but all the prize money went to charity.
Norman Vaughan took over as the Chairman in the summer of 1978. He was a good stand-up comedian but he was no quiz master and the show was gone by September that year.
